Hand hygiene is a crucial step in restricting the spread of disease and infection within the healthcare setting. The COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the importance of proper hand hygiene in limiting the spread of infection, additionally the COVID-19 pandemic caused increased stress on healthcare workers. In this project, the hand hygiene trends in an acute healthcare setting are examined, looking at differing healthcare professional roles such as nurses, physicians and patient care technicians, over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our data show a statistically significant increase in hand hygiene compliance of physicians through the course of the pandemic
