En este trabajo se efectúa una revisión critica de los estudios efectuados sobre las reacciones psicológicas de los ataques del 115 de 2001 en EE UU y del 11M de 2004 en Madrid. A pesar de muchas voces de alarma efectuadas por profesionales de la salud mental y por responsables de diseñar políticas públicas de salud, los efectos psicopatológicos de estos sucesos en la población general han sido relativamente escasos y además, para la inmensa mayoría de la gente, han sido transitorios.
