Publicisation d’un double pouvoir en temps de Fronde. Une lecture de la corruption à partir de G. Naudé

International audienceWhile french monarchy is bankrupted, Mazarin is getting rich out of skilled financial misappropriations and thus becomes one of the igniters of the Fronde. Anonymously published Judgment by Gabriel Naudé, the cardinal’s librarian, stands up for him/takes his side in 1649-1650. By examining the mode of publication and social disjunction as shewn in that text, we are able to propose a concept of corruption specific to the political world. It appears that corruption is far from being an anomaly even in an healthy government: corruption is a mechanism of power, a proper system at the core of the State. It empowers the holder to obtain even more of it. In such a context, ultimately, corruption is the essence of power.Alors que la monarchie est en situation de banqueroute, les habiles malversations financières de Mazarin et son enrichissement personnel sont l’un des déclencheurs de la Fronde. Un Jugement publié anonymement par Gabriel Naudé, le bibliothécaire du cardinal, prend sa défense en 1649-1650. Suite à l’examen des ressorts de la publicisation et de la disjonction sociale mis en scène dans ce texte, on propose une conception de la corruption, propre au monde politique. Loin d’être seconde par rapport à un état « sain », la corruption constitue un mécanisme du pouvoir, un véritable système au cœur de l’État qui permet au détenteur du pouvoir d’en obtenir encore plus.
