Les clients des saints. Maladie et quête du miracle à travers les procès de canonisation de la première moitié du XVIIe siècle en France

The subject of this thesis is the accounts of miracles contained in the French canonization trials of the first half of the 17th century. After a detailed analysis of the identity of the persons who benefit from the miracles and of the (other) witnesses who came to give their testimony, we study in a second part the illnesses cured by the intercession of the saints, their perception, and the ways of living them. The third part of the book is reserved for the pious practices and healing rituals that are perceptible in the quest for the miracle. In the conclusions, we discuss the probable changes that are taking place in the analogous accounts of the canonization processes during the first half of the eighteenth century.La thèse a pour sujet les récits de miracles contenus dans les procès de canonisation du premier XVIIe siècle français. Après une analyse détaillée de l’identité des miraculés et des (autres) témoins y venant faire leur déposition, nous étudions dans un deuxième temps les maux guéris par la cure miraculeuse, leur perception, et les façons de vivre la maladie. La troisième partie du livre est réservée aux pratiques de piété et aux rituels de guérison perceptibles dans la quête du miracle. Dans les conclusions, nous discutons les probables changements qui s’opèrent dans les récits analogues des procès de canonisation du premier XVIIIe siècle français
