Solubility enhancement of poorly water-soluble drugs is a major challenge in the pharmaceutical field since 70% of the drugs exhibit low solubility. Nanocrystal (NC) formulations is one of the recent techniques developed to improve dissolution rate, solubility and, therefore bioavailability of active ingredients. Moreover, nanocrystal formulations can be administered through several routes and provide a better performance in term of safety, targeting efficiency, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. Etoposide is derived from the podophyllotoxin. It is an inhibitor of the topo-isomerase II which inhibits the mitosis of tumoral cells.
