International audienceBackgroundPersistent occiput posterior and occiput transverse positions are the most common malpositions of the fetal head during labor and are associated with prolonged second stage of labor, cesarean deliveries, instrumental deliveries, severe perineal tears, postpartum hemorrhage, and chorioamnionitis.
