National audienceThis article deals with the design and use of role-playing games as a method for instrumenting participatory approaches to water management and, more broadly, territorial management. Different methodological points around this approach are discussed in the form of questions and answers: what types of needs are met by role-playing games, what is required to design a game and what are the good design practices, how to organize and facilitate a session, etc. Two concrete applications are presented.
