National audienceWasteWAG is a role playing game and a participatory planning tool for individual and collective sanitation systems, both in rural and urban areas. Its design, following Wat-A-Game methodology and Companion Modelling approach, involved Senegalese local stakeholders and INRAE’s researchers. Beyond the shared picture of sanitation reality in Senegal, the distinctive feature of WasteWAG is more on its modelling process itself, focuses on: (1) training of local stakeholders intended to use the tool in order to enhance its transfer, (2) integration of technical knowledge regarding sanitation into the tool, and (3) the multifunctional aspect of WasteWAG (raising awareness, planning, and simulation).
