International audienceThis study examines the reception of visual communications aimed to counter violence against women, created by the civil society, and using gender disruption strategies (GDS: disturbing gender-based relations). It seeks to provide a better understanding of the reception and the influences of such strategies, through a mediatized form of human and social interactions and a triangulated mixed-method (focus group and “before-after” attitudes measurement protocol). The results show that, in reception: (1) violence is perceived in its collective dimension; education is the more important way to counter this social problem, while notably the law and contemporary feminism represent resistances to change.
