International audienceThe film biography titled Frida [2002] produced by the American director and director Julie Taymor, relates the life of theMexican painter while being inspired mainly by the book which devoted Hayden Herrera to him. It recounts the tumultuous lifeof the artist since his young student life, his accident and his passionate relationship with the muralist Diego Rivera.Numerous references to Frida Kahlo's paintings are included in the scenography and recall the richness and complexity of herwork: more than one hundred and forty paintings, of which fifty are self-portraits, which come in different themes: politics,Mexicanism, love, nature, suffering, femininity or even death.It is from the analysis of a particular scene [which galvanizes the radicality of the abortion test and offers a framework for theexpression of the temporality specific to this event, which I qualify as traumatic] that this article, which stands at the crossroadsof cinema and psychoanalysis, explains a decisive stage in the creative process in Frida Kahlo.Here, the examination of the dialectic between creative process and trauma, allows us to grasp, in the nascent state, theimplementation of modes of pictorial creation which sign a new temporality in his pictorial art.Beyond that, the challenge of the biopic is to succeed on the one hand in weaving, modeling, staging and images the life of thisextraordinary artist; and on the other hand to allow the spectator to discover the entanglement between the creative subjectivityof the artist and his work.La biographie filmique intitulée Frida [2002] réalisée par la réalisatrice et metteuse en scène américaine Julie Taymor, relate la vie de la peintre mexicaine en s'inspirant majoritairement du livre que lui a consacré Hayden Herrera. Elle raconte la vie tumultueuse de l'artiste depuis sa jeune vie d'étudiante, son accident et sa relation passionnelle avec le muraliste Diego Rivera. De nombreuses références aux tableaux de Frida Kahlo sont inclues dans la scénographie et rappellent la richesse et la complexité de son oeuvre : plus de cent quarante tableaux dont une cinquantaine d'autoportraits qui se déclinent en différents thèmes : la politique, la mexicanité, l'amour, la nature, la souffrance, la féminité ou encore la mort. C'est à partir de l'analyse d'une scène en particulier [qui galvanise la radicalité de l'épreuve de l'avortement et offre un cadre à l'expression de la temporalité propre à cet évènement, que je qualifie de traumatique] que le présent article, qui se situe à la croisée du cinéma et de la psychanalyse, explicite une étape décisive du processus créateur chez Frida Kahlo. Ici, l'examen de la dialectique entre processus créateur et traumatisme, permet de saisir, à l'état naissant, la mise en oeuvre de modalités de création picturale qui signe une temporalité inédite dans son art pictural. Au-delà, le défi du biopic est de parvenir d'une part à tisser, modeler, mettre en scène et en images la vie de cette artiste horsdu-commun ; et d'autre part de permettre au spectateur de découvrir l'intrication entre la subjectivité créatrice de l'artiste et son oeuvre
