International audienceThis book offers a complete reconstruction of the ancient and Byzantine tradition of the pseudoplatonic Eryxias, a dialogue concerning the relationship between wealth and virtue. This text is preserved in our medieval manuscripts in the Appendix of spurious dialogues, but probably found its origin in the Ancient Academy. The book contains a thorough investigation of the indirect and direct tradition of the text. The section on the Byzantine transmission improves the reconstruction of the manuscript tradition of the Appendix offered by Levi Arnold Post (1934). All known manuscripts have been newly collated, providing the necessary basis for a new critical edition of this often overlooked text
