International audienceA university degree may be necessary to obtain a good stable job, but it isn’t enough, there are other pieces in the job-search puzzle. Despite a French Equal Opportunity Employment law penalizing wage discrimination based on physical appearance, the results of several recent studies suggest that appearance is a selling point on the job market. Using interview-based investigation techniques, the study reported in this article examines the place of appearance in the career launching strategies of students looking to enter sales management positions.
