Importance: Limited research exists investigating the association between multidimensional poverty and dementia in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs). Objective: To investigate the association between multidimensional poverty and dementia among adults aged 50 years or older living in South Africa. Design, Setting, and Participants: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa, between November 11, 2019, and February 28, 2020.
