The theoretical and practical discourse of artistic experience and its importance in pedagogy addressed during the course of the 20th century constituted a relevant interest for the study of the harmonious development of children and youth. The present thesis presents a theoretical and practical study using references from the field of philosophy, pedagogy and art. Based on contributions by John Dewey (1859-1952), Herbert Read (1893-1968) and Elliot Eisner (1933-2014), we certify the extension of the arts in the field of life in general and pedagogy in particular, and even though, art allows the human being to be touched emotionally through a unique form of experience.
