Darren Aronofsky’s movie Mother!, explores Christianity in a very different way. The movie takes place in a house with Mother, Mother Nature, and him, God. Throughout this chaotic and confusing movie, there are many scenes that symbolize biblical stories from the Old Testament to the New Testament. Through his movie he shows biblical times through Mother Nature’s eyes, which makes religion seem more destructive and selfish. The purpose of this paper is to find connections between the Christian religion and how it is portrayed in the movie. I will do this by researching scenes and how they relate to the bible.
