Liberal arts schools transitioning to comprehensive colleges often face growing requests from students and parents to get career outcomes (from relatively expensive educations with ballooning school loans) clearly articulated to them as early as when they initially shop for schools. This becomes an issue for faculty members because specialized career preparation and job placement often fall beyond the traditional role of career services in a liberal arts environment.
