The purpose of this case study is to identify the policies and programs that President Lula\u27s administration has instituted to alleviate poverty in Brazil. This study will seek to determine if the economic condition of the poor has been improved as a result of Lula\u27s ascent to the Presidency. The methodology applied to this study is a qualitative strategy of inquiry. This is a case study on the outcome of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The research design is based on a philospohical advocacy/participatory worldview
