Vol. 1, no. 1, Februari 2014, p. 61Considering various perceptions towards narration in John 13: 1- 35 about Judas betrayal, this writing was meant to analyze the text and its controversial perceptions. The writer used hermeneutical approach as well as socio political perspective and found out four results. The text was a statement that Jesus was the one who fulfilled the Old Testament, Jesus was the first martyr and He was the Son of man who bequeathed the new rules to people who believe in God.
