This study was aimed at investigating the English Department students' perceptions in Satya Wacana Christian University towards the use of multiple choice questions. The participant was composed of seventy-four students in Basic Grammar classes. The inventory of English Department students’ perceptions was constructed to measure students’ perceptions. The results revealed that students preferred multiple-choice questions more than other question types. They believed that multiple-choice questions are less difficult, less complex, clearer, more interesting, and fairer than other question types.
