Aiti : Jurnal Teknologi Informasi, Vol. 6, No. 2, Agustus 2009, p. 101-117One technique used to increase computational power of a computer system is to process the data parallelly. One of the most frequently used operations in parallel computing is matrix multiplication. This article compares the performance in terms of speedup of two platforms with different architectures. The platforms are COWs (Cluster of Workstations) and Transputer. Test result shows that the transputer system performs better compared to the COWs platform when using four and six processors, but both performs almost equally when using two processors
