Political Ecologies in Contact: Articulating Improvisation Practices

Contact Festival Dartington and Conference are being developed as annual events which promote the development of academic research into contact improvisation. \ud \ud Contact Festival Dartington and Conference aim to:\ud • support the development and appreciation of contact and improvisation practices \ud • facilitate a collaborative learning environment in which principles of movement can be explored by practitioners of all levels of experience\ud • promote research into the applications and implications of contact improvisation practice for different contexts including movement education, somatic studies, performance training, health and wellbeing, choreographic practice, medical research, social sciences, experiential learning and philosophy\ud • encourage questioning of the impact and application of contact improvisation practice in different contexts through dialogues, presentations of research, performances and shared workshop experience Contact Festival Dartington and Conference is the first and only international event of its kind in the UK, and continues to draw international attention for its quality of teachers and practitioners and innovative scope
