La angustia de Prado Esbozo biográfico de un intelectual peruano (1871-1921)

The essay proposes a biographical analysis of the Peruvian political-intellectual context, at the turn from the 19th to the 20th century, based on the written production and the institutional activity of the intellectual Javier Prado y Ugarteche, frequently considered as one of the introducers of the ‘positivist theses’ to the local milieu by the historiography of ideas. This study focuses on the family and personal projects, since they are members of the political and academic elite, and it is particularly embedded in the political and institutional history of the period.El ensayo propone un análisis desde lo biográfico del contexto político-intelectual peruano, en el giro del siglo XIX al XX, a partir de la producción escrita y la actividad institucional del intelectual Javier Prado y Ugarteche, referido frecuentemente por la historiografía de ideas como uno de los introductores de las ‘tesis positivistas’ al medio local. Haciendo énfasis en los proyectos familiar y personal del personaje que, por tratarse de miembros de la élite política y académica, se encuentran particularmente imbricados en la historia política e institucional del período
