13th Polymer Networks Group Conference, Polymer Networks 96, Doorn, Netherlands, sep. 02-06, 1996International audienceThe small angle light scattering (SALS) technique has been applied to the case of UV cured polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) blends in order to follow the evolution of the phase separation from the initially miscible mixture to the final structure. Such studies are of interest since it has been shown that morphology influences the optical performance of such materials. The experiments showed that the phase separation occurred via the spinodal decomposition mechanism and that a double phase separation took place, leading to the creation of subdomains of micrometre sizes
