We review recent advances in the suppression of the slugging phenomenon by model-based control. We focus on three aspects of recent contributions: models, observers and control laws. For each category, we evaluate and compare existing solutions, and propose directions for improvement
In the oil and gas industry, the gas-lift assist approach is often used in the roduction wells when ...
As a kind of periodic phenomenon, the slugging flow in the offshore oil & gas production address...
Abstract: Active control of the production choke valve is the recommended solution to prevent severe...
International audienceIn this paper, we compare two solutions for suppressing slug flow in pipes con...
This paper addresses the problem of reproducing oscillations generated by the well-known slugging ph...
This thesis looks into how to create a dynamic model of riser slugging. The model created is a six-s...
Slugging flow in the offshore oil & gas production attracts lot of attention due to it's limitat...
Slugging is an undesirable multiphase flow regime occurring on oil production facilities. This manus...
Severe-slugging flow in offshore production flowlines and risers is undesirable and effective soluti...
The threat of slugging to production facilities has been known since the 70’s. This undesirable flo...
International audienceIn this paper, we propose a simple model to represent the slugging flow regime...
Riser slugging is a flow regime that can occur in multiphase pipeline-riser systems, and is characte...
In this paper, the use of active control to restrict the length of growing slugs in horizontal pipel...
Slugging is a well-known slugging phenomenon in multiphase flow, which may cause problems such as vi...
