International audienceThis Special Issue of WEAR gathers extended papers from the 4th International Conference on Tribology in Manufacturing Processes (ICTMP 2010). This fourth issue of the series coordinated by the International Research Group on Tribology in Manufacturing (IRGTM), held in Nice, France, June 13-15th, 2010, gathered about 100 scientists from academia and industry to discuss hot topics and recent advances in the application of the concepts and tools of tribology to manufacturing, i.e. forming, assembling, finishing, surface engineering of metallic materials, with a strong focus on plasticity-based forming processes
