This article aims to highlight the importance of the immanent cause within the doctrine of Baruch Spinoza. Ethics is the most important treatise written by Spinoza and gathers the mature thought of the Dutch philosopher. Proposition XVIII of book I has a fundamental role and articulates the world of Natura Naturans and Natura Naturata, showing for the first time how the only cause itself occurs and produces all: immanently.
