The present article shows a dialectal division of American Spanish according to the opinion of its speakers, within a Perceptual Dialectology approach. Data was gathered through a series of interviews where speakers mentioned linguistic similitudes and differences between them and speakers of other countries. These speakers’ perceptions and opinions were evaluated and cross-linked. Besides, their opinions were represented in perceptual or mental maps.
