Most of the empirical research about the word stress acoustic parameters in different languages concluded that this phonological feature is basically expressed by means of variations on the intensity, pitch and duration of vocalic segments -besides of other secondary correlates (Leah 1977, Al-Ani 1992, De Jong y Zawaydeh 1999: 5).
