From a geoarchaeological approach, this paper aims to evaluate the soil human modification and –in turn– the pedogenetic and geomorphological processes which affect the vertical distribution of the archaeological record. For this purpoise, the Late Holocene Marazzi 2 Site (southeastern coast of Bahía Inútil, Tierra del Fuego, Chile) is analized. Methodologically, the vertical distribution of the record is analysed through a geomorphological and pedological characterization, sedimentological, mineralogical and micromorphological data.This information contributes to the understanding of the vertical migration and relative temporality of the archaeological record.
