This article stresses the term Pietät in Hegel's work as a fundamental concept to a philosophy that open several fields on social theory facing inexorably positivism or “naturalistic materialism” from which have been made renown critics to Hegel on social science. Through this term, Hegel describes a social evolution looking for the substance of each one of the stages that comprise it, particularly in the West. This paper first exposes the place in the Hegel’s work where the term Pietät appears as the beginning of that social evolution. Then it is exposed the destiny of that evolution as completeness of human-subjectivity.
