Background: Lipases secreted from various Rhizopus oryzae strains were previously expressed in Escherichia coli, Pichia pastoris, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae and was shown to have distinct activities in response to different temperatures, metal ions, organic solvents, and specific substrates.
