Interação entre Strongyloides venezuelensis e Schistosoma mansoni em camundongos da linhagem AKR/J

The AKR/J strain of mice experimentally infected with Strongyloides venezuelensis 45 days after the intraperitoneal inoculation of Schistosoma mansoni cercariae presented a reduction of S. venezuelensis larvae in the lungs and females in the intestine. These females also showed reduced length and fecundity when compared with mice infected with S. venezuelensis only. These results suggest a negative interaction between these helminths leading alteration in immune response of the host, adverse to S. venezuelensis infection.Camundongos da linhagem AKR/J, experimentalmente infectados por Strongyloides venezuelensis, 45 dias após o inóculo intraperitoneal de cercárias de Schistosoma mansoni, apresentaram uma diminuição de larvas recuperadas dos pulmões, na fecundidade e tamanho alcançado pelas fêmeas, quando comparados aos animais infectados somente por S. venezuelensis. A análise dos resultados sugere uma interação parasitária negativa, com alteração da resposta imunológica do hospedeiro, desfavorável à infecção por S. venezuelensis
