In September, 1984, the Department of Personnel and Human Resource Studies at the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Cornell University entered into the first three-year Joint Project with IBM corporation to bring personal computer (PC) technology to the human resource classroom. This paper summarizes the goals and implementation progress of this Joint Project, its evolution into a second three-year phase, and its effects on students, faculty and the School in general.
