REPRESENTASI PEREMPUAN JAWA PADA FILM (Analisis Wacana Sara Mills Pada Film Tilik Karya Wahyu Agung Prasetyo)

Film is one of the media that can be used to delivered the messages to the public. The strength and ability of film in reaching social segments, which is make film practitioners have the potential to influence or shape an audience's view with the message in it. Until now, women are still used as object in commercial advertisements, news and films. women in the media has indirectly shaped the image of women in front of the wider community. The image is not only positive but can also be negative. In this study, researchers used the TILIK film to find out how women are represented in the film by Wahyu Agung Prasetyo. Using qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach and Sara Mills discourse analysis model. The representation of Javanese women is viewed from the position of the subject, object, and reader. The results of this study is in the Tilik film, the position of women in the social system related to Javanese culture is shown if women don’t behave according to the norms, culture and (unggah-ungguh) that have been set in social life, it will cause comments in society. In this case, women aren’t freed to express themselves because they are influenced by the ideology that has been instilled from an early age as well as various rules, norms, and social sanctions in society
