ANALISIS ALASAN JUSTIFIKASI ISRAEL DALAM MELAKUKAN OPERATION PROTECTIVE OF EDGE TAHUN 2014

Protective of Edge against Hamas. Israel's success in blocking Hamas attacks and destroying Hamas military camp points has led to an escalation of the conflict higher. The author uses the Jus War Theory proposed by Hugo Grotius and the Realist Perspective in International Legal Politics proposed by Hikmahanto Juwana to see why Israel carried out Operation Protective of Edge in 2014 against Hamas. Data collection techniques used in this study are library sources from books, journals, theses, online news reports, and so on. The results of this study indicate that the Operation Protective of Edge carried out by Israel against Hamas was caused by Hamas attacking Israeli territory first. Therefore, Israel applies self-defense to protect itself from Hamas attacks. Evidence of this self-defense can be seen from the statements given by the Prime Minister, the Military Forces, and the Israeli Parliament, as well as the support responses issued by other countries towards this military operation
