This research is motivated by the lack of interest in student learning, especially in Arabic subjects, because it is a subject that is full of memorization, the lack of learning media that supports the learning process, so that many students are not enthusiastic and do not pay attention to the teacher when learning and student understanding. decreases and affects their grades and through the development of this Arabic thematic conversation book media, it is hoped that student learning outcomes can be improved. The purpose of this research is to: The aims of this study were to: (1) describe the process of developing a thematic conversation book for learning Arabic for class VIII at Al-Umm Putri Islamic Middle School in Malang, East Java, (2) describing the effectiveness of a conversation book for learning Arabic for class VIII at SMP Islam AL. -Umm Putri Malang, East Java The type of research used is research and development (RnD) with the ADDIE model which has 5 steps, namely: research and data collection (analyze), design (design), development (development), implementation (implementation), evaluation (evaluation). From the results obtained, the researchers measured the effectiveness of using the Thematic Conversation Book for Arabic Language Learning for class VIII at SMP Islam AL-Umm Putri, Malang City, East Java which was analyzed using the N-Gain formula. Class VIII Arabic at SMP Islam AL-Umm Putri, Malang, East Java, is categorized as quite effective with a percentage of 68.32%
