Plasma polymerization is an attractive and powerful tool for synthesizing functional polymeric thin films with highly cross-linked structures. So far, in plasma many non-negligible side reactions promote the synthesis of polymers with a structure different from those obtained by conventional polymerization processes. Namely, the network architecture could be a consequence of the functional group's sacrifice on behalf of the cross-link’s formation.
