Assessing students on Counselling\ud Training programmes is complex\ud (Johns, 1998). Our postgraduate\ud Diploma in Counselling attracts\ud students aged from 23 to 79,\ud with widely diverse backgrounds\ud and cultural and educational\ud experiences. This provides us\ud with a rich student group with\ud some intrinsic challenges; this is\ud especially evident within the writing\ud of assignments
