Monsanto: Controlling America’s Food Supply Monsanto is a well known Genetically Modified (GM) corn and soybean seed production company based out of St.Louis, Missouri. The company produces 90% of all corn and soybean in the United States as well as the well known pesticide, RoundUp. Throughout its history, Monsanto has faced strong opposition from both organic farmers and consumers surrounding the unethical practices used by the company to dominate the GM seed industry. Their power over the seed industry has given them a distinct influence over politicians to support their issues and products as well.
