Health Care Accessibility

The economic downturn of the United States is considered one of the most trying periods in the United States’ recorded history. The economic down turn has presented numerous obstacles to people of all backgrounds. One of the biggest challenges to the United States population is accessibility to health care. Many Americans have no medical coverage. With the new healthcare reform many Americans are going to be impacted, and will have to learn the healthcare system as well as do their research. Using data from the Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System, we will look at several correlations of accessible variables in one’s life, and the effect of that variable on health care accessibility. These variables will range from race and age to disabilities and medical conditions. The main purpose of this research is to model healthcare accessibility in a way that is understandable to those without any statistical background; and for those interested, they can adjust their lifestyles in order to access health care
