This project will focus on the funding aspect of K-12 schools in the state of Illinois. The presentation will touch a bit on the distribution of funding at both federal and state government levels. Additionally, the project will take a further look at what makes school budgets the way they are as a result of legislature and policy. Also, a variety of schools (private, charter, and public) will be compared to see how they are impacted differently or not as much. Then, the presentation will take into consideration how differing budgets affect school communities and discover how the rise of COVID-19 has presented more challenges.
