This presentation describes INDOT’s plans to expand the use of highway lighting to improve safety and how we are modernizing our lighting systems by changing light sources from high pressure sodium to LED. Information on how our specifications, design procedure/policy, and product evaluations have developed to support these initiatives will be shared, and the LED conversion contracts will also be discussed
