Breviaries combined all the sung and spoken portions of the Divine Office into one volume. This leaf bears three markers of French origin: first, the dorsal motif in the bar ornament; second, the Angular Gothic script hand; and third, the lemon tone of the gold illumination. The overall effect is a bright, joyous page full of movement. Text shown is a reading for a Sunday within the Octave of Epiphany.https://digitalcommons.cwu.edu/illuminated_manuscripts/1005/thumbnail.jp
