Expression of judo sportsmen’s aggression and self-evaluation

Actuality of work. Although scientific literature has dealt with the aggressive behaviour of teenagers quite a lot so far, the studies on teenagers‘ aggression and self-evaluation in sports (duels) are sparse, therefore, the object of this study is the peculiarities of teenagers‘ aggression and self-evaluation in contact sports. Object of the work – expression of aggression and self-evaluation of judo sportsmen. Hypothesis states that the expression of aggression and self-evaluation of older and of higher sporting excellence sportsmen is higher. Aim of the work – to determine the expression of aggression and self-evaluation of judo sportsmen. Objectives: 1. To determine expression of aggression and self-evaluation of judo sportsmen according to age. 2. To determine expression of aggression and self-evaluation of judo sportsmen according to sporting excellence. 3. To reveal the relations between types of aggression and self-evaluation of judo sportsmen. Conclusions: 1. The expression of physical aggression, verbal aggression and anger of judo sportsmen of different ages did not differ significantly, and higher level of hostility was common to young judo sportsmen rather than to the juniors and cadets. The highest self-evaluation was common to young judo sportsmen, and the lowest – to junior judo sportsmen. In all age groups, the average self-evaluation was prevailing. 2. The expression of aggression of different sporting excellence did not differ significantly, and the higher level of self-evaluation is more common to national judo team members than to the judo sportsmen of lower sporting excellence. 3.
