Importance of the study: Therapists rely on visual analysis, as they often do not have access to the equipment or time required for complex biomechanical analysis. The therapists are using visual ratings to make clinical decisions (Whatman et al., 2012). Evidence about differences between expert and novice physical therapists’ clinical reasoning has been previously demonstrated. Expert physiotherapists have been shown to use pattern recognition, hypothetico – deductive and narrative reasoning, whereas novice used hypothetico – deductive reasoning only and were not always able to evaluate a hypothesis and their reasoning contained some errors.
