The evaluation of leadership styles‘ expression in the municipality of Marijampolė

Object of work – expression of leadership styles. Aim of work is to evaluate expression of leadership styles in the municipality of Marijampolė. Objectives: 1. To reveal the theoretical concept of leadership. 2. To introduce the theoretical aspects of leadership styles. 3. To study the expression of leadership styles in the municipality of Marijampolė. Objectives: 1. After studying the theoretical concept of leadership, it could be stated that leadership is a process by which people are encouraged to achieve and implement particular goals. The specifics of leadership means that a particular person or a group of persons determine the actions of other people in realizing a common goal to use all resources available as effectively as it are possible. 2. The leadership style is considered to be the whole of human relationships in organization. It is influenced by the values of the manager, expectations of the employee, the situation, etc. Usually the leadership styles are as follows: autocratic, democratic and liberal, however, in Lithuania these styles are quite often called transformational, transactional and passive / avoidant. 3. The study revealed that transactional leadership style is prevailing. Most respondents believe that leadership style influences the activities of organization and the results of employees‘ work
