The Expression of Fathers’ and Mothers’ Pedagogical Competence and Features of Bringing up the Teenagers

The object. The expression of fathers‘ and mothers‘ pedagogical competence and features of bringing up the teenagers. Objective. To analyse the differences between mothers‘ and fathers‘ expression of pedagogical competences and features of upbringing teenagers in the family. Tasks. 1. To reveal fathers‘ and mothers‘ pedagogical competencies expression and differences in bringing up teenagers. 2. To identify the differences and expressions of styles of upbringing teenagers in the family between fathers and mothers. The first part discusses expression of the main pedagogical competencies, describes parenting influence on teenagers development. The second and third parts analysis and presents survey results on diferences in styles of the expression of parents pedagogical competencies and features of parenting. The characteristic. In order to investigate the expression of parents pedagogical skills and parenting styles in the family in bringing up teenagers there was a survey accomplished of Švenčioniai Zigmo Žemaičio gymnasium 5th-10th classes students parents filling in the questioneers. In practice it states that the parents meetings at schools are attended by mothers more often so their attitude to the pedagogical competences and parenting styles in the family is different. Hypothesis. Fathers pedagogical competences are less expressed then the mothers. The results led to the following main conclusions: pedagogical competences appear in bringing up children and reveal as human‘s ability to assess the situation and choose the appropriate action methods; the results of the study showed that most patents would develop their knowledge of teen parenting issues and pointed out that the main initiator of the parents education should be class teacher
