Evaluation of personnel qualification improvement in accommodation institutions

Problem of the work: how personnel qualification improvement proceeds in accommodation institutions? Objective of the work: assession of personnel qualification improvement in accomodation institutions. Object of the work: evaluation of personnel qualification improvement. Tasks of the work: 1. To present the conception of tourism sector and highlight the value of accommodation subsector in it. 2. To highlight the essence of the personnel role in organizations of tourism sector. 3. To reveal personnel qualification improvement and training essence for the organization. 4. To ascertain perfection of personnel in accommodation institutions distinguishing its great necessity. Results and conclusions of the work: 1. According to the international NACE classification of activities, tourism sector is subdivided into even smaller sectors (sub-sectors): accommodation institutions, health and travel agencies and tour organizers. Subsectors of tourism interacts with each other, in this way have intercompetition, however, the biggest progress in tourism sector is noticable in developement of accommodation services. 2. The quality of services in tourism sector depends on the personnel in that sector. Organizations of tourism sector possitively effects country's economic growth, promotes exports and employment. This sector depends on the personnel of that sector (human resources) which is considered as a hardly achievable or even unachievable competitive advantage of such organizations. 3. Organization strategy is achieved by courtesy of personnel that presupposes the importance of personnel welfare. Success of the organization highly depends on the knowledge and skills of the personnel that helps to acclimatize with permanent changes and various chalanges. 4. This survey revealed that more than a half of the personnel of Kaunas accommodation institutions have not participated in qualification and training courses. It was ascertained that the major part of employees and personnel are motivated to improve their skills and are aware of the skills that needs to be improved. That reflects a clear perception of training importance, although such qualification and training courses are organized too rarely or not even organized at all. Organization itself takes care of the selection of appropriate teaching methods, due to the fact that the most popular methods of particular organization are considered the most valuable, not all of the improvement courses, that the personnel attended, are evaluated positively
