Assessment of volunteering as a type of travel

This paper analyzes volunteering as a type of travel. On the basis of scientific literature, volunteering was first revealed in the theoretical aspect, to introduce the volunteer as a participant in the phenomenon of volunteering, to reveal career links. The next step is the introduction of volunteering as a type of travel, unfortunately, but in recent scientific sources this is not a common theme. Finally, a study was conducted that looked at volunteering as a type of travel from the point of view of people (Lithuanian case). Research aim - explore volunteering as a type of travel. Research methods. Literature analysis, questionnaire survey, descriptive statistical analysis of data. Results: Summarizing the results, respondents focused on the assertion that each volunteer travel mission is a challenge in which volunteers become part of the community, learn from other cultures, discover new customs and religions. Volunteering is a development of citizenship and free-will activities, that allows testing new activities, encouraging personal development in various fields. Respondents in the most useful areas assessed health care and environmental activities. Conclusions: 1. Volunteering is a development of citizenship and free-will activities. The functions of volunteering from scientific sources are influenced by human personality, skills acquired, social / cultural life, even employment. The benefits of volunteering are not only for the person but also for the entire surrounding world. 2. A volunteer is a person who shares his personal life with others who feels personal growth, improves their knowledge, expands the circle of acquaintances, and helps others. Types of volunteers are - volunteers in organizations, professionals who rely on their profession and event volunteers who carry out various auxiliary work. Volunteering provides the necessary experience, helps to develop skills, broadens the circle of the surrounding, allows to study occupations, the labor market, get acquainted with various activities in practice, deal with situations. It also helps you learn more about yourself, feel confident about yourself. Through volunteering, a person manages to manage his time, perform tasks, collaborate with different people, adapt to various situations. With this experience, there is a greater chance of meeting the requirements of the employer. 3. Traveling encourages you to feel part of the world and discover more mutual interactions. Traveling really changes people and brings discoveries, communication, joy and observation to life. Volunteering is an opportunity to travel to any part of the world, contribute to any noble goal activity, get to know different cultures and people. Projects are being carried out, which not only involves voluntary activities, but also cognitive activities. Each project attracts various people and cultures. The people's circle, who's in, is always mixed. There is an opportunity to learn different experiences, discover new friends and expand your horizons. 4. From the point of view of the peoples themselves, each volunteering mission is a challenge. The volunteering programs are implemented globally and are accessible to everyone. Volunteers become part of the community, visiting different countries of development, discovering the most beautiful localities in the volunteering community, getting to know the localities, their livelihood, becoming part of the community, discovering new customs and cultures. All this promotes personal development. Each new acquired ability can be useful in the future. Personal development is one of the goals of volunteering and volunteering
