The effectiveness of the game indicators of elite basketball players playing at different positions

Research aim: to determine the effectiveness of the performance of high-skill basketball players of different positions in the game. Task of the research: 1. To determine the effectiveness indicators of LBL high-skilled different positions basketball players. 2. To determine the effectiveness indicators of EBC 2017 high-skilled different positions basketball players. 3. To compare and evaluate the effectiveness indicators of LBL and EBC 2017 high-skilled different positions basketball players. Research methods: Collection and systematization of statistical data of the Lithuanian basketball league (LBL) and the European Basketball Championship (EBC) in 2017-18 year of the performance of the most effective different positions players in the game. Research results: The forwards in the LBL scored less points than the EBC 2017 forwards (p <0.05), as well as the EKC 2017 defenders shoot and hit more points (both indicators, p <0,05), took more rebounds (p <0,05), and scored more points (p <0.05). During the EBC 2017, the centerposition players were better in all parameter when compared to the LBL center position players (all investigated indicators, p <0.05). Conclusions and results: 1. LBL defenders made the most of all successful passes (p <0,05) while centers, although they scored more balls than defenders (p <0,05), threw and hit the least three-point throws compared to other positions players (both indicators, p <0.05). 2. At the EBC 2017 the results of two-points and three-points shoots and hits were very similar of all positions players. However, the defenders scored more points (p <0.05) and performed more successful passes then forwards (p <0.05), but lost on the number of rebounds (p <0.05). centers rebounded most of the balls (p <0.05). 3. LBL forwards scored less points than the ECC 2017 forwards (p <0.05), as well as the EBC 2017 defenders shoot and hit more points (both indicators, p <0,05), took more rebounds (p <0,05), and scored more points (p <0.05).
